Genomic data from Study of 93 analyzed SARS-CoV-II virus samples from 12 countries, suggests that the virus could have come to market from outside

Study at Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences: Study of 93 genomes of SARS-CoV-II with data from GISAID EpiFlu to investigate the evolution and transmissions of unknown pneumonia coronavirus and human-to-human transmissions of SARS-CoV-2 .

A research team analyzed 93 SARS-CoV-II virus samples from 12 countries. The study of the genomic data, suggested that the virus could have come to the market from the outside, and thus also that the virus may not have its origin in the Wuhan market. The researchers also said that direct human-to-human transmission may have begun in late November 2019. The study pointed out that the market may have boosted circulation, rather than being the source of the virus.
